A few weeks later.

Well this next entry will consist of some thoughts from Chris concerning a couple new adventures for him. Last weekend we experienced a bit of a Korean theme park by going to Lotte World for some 10 pin bowling. Basically Lotte World is a indoor amusement/animatiion park. We wanted to check out the rides but it was ridiculously busy so we x-nayed that one. Then we went to a Sauna or as the Koreans call it a Jimjilbang. A place where you can relax bathe naked, (cough, with your own sex of course) and play games. Of course you are provided with sweet shirt and shorts, girls in pink guys in blue. I love going to these places to relax and now Chris does too. You can ask him about the naked part! :)
We also found a church we would like to start regularly attending. It is in our town but still about an 45 min bus ride away. Chris really wants to go to a Korean church where they translate the service for you but then there is really not much chance of fellowship. So we have decided to pay visits to those church services.
Last week I had a bad cold/allergies/getting used to the air here. (Be thankful for the clean air you breathe in Canada,) So I went to a doc because it wasnt going away. Well let me tell you they pumped me full of drugs for the next 4 days and I got over it. When you are sick here it's like 15 pills a day helps rid the sickness away!
One other fun thing we experience every day is the public transit system. Now depending on your bus driver it can be relaxing or an all out hold on for dear life and pray kind of ride. today we had one of those, we swear our bus driver thought he was in a race car. Swerving in and out of lanes in these crazy busy and narrow streets. Yikes!
Basketball is going good Chris' team is doing okay 1-2 so far. He doesnt like the court though because it's like playing in Haiti. The grip sucks and he um falls quite frequently. Over all though he's having heaps of fun. I will play my first game this coming Sunday in Seoul so we have a busy weekend ahead which is all good because we have Monday and Tuesday off.
Public school holidays!! So some touring we will do and then I hope to take a few more pictures to post. Sorry there is none in this one. I want to get out of this smoke filled PC as fast as possible.
Okay then that's all for today~
Blessings

We are in KOREA!!

Greetings, I know this entry has been a bit in coming but here I am with a few things to say.
We were warmly greeted into this country that is for sure. Our boss picked us up and treated us to an amazing meal. They brought us to our home and I was really impressed with what they rented for us. Two rooms laundry space and bathroom and kitchen space. My bed and kitchen sink are no longer a foot apart. :)
We live in a city called Suwon, it is about 45min from Seoul and where I lived before. There is about 1 million people here but it is a little less crowded and calmer than Seoul. It's great to be close to the big city though because Chris is playing in a basketball league there every Saturday. So far the team in 1-1. If you want check out stats and how he's doing go to http://www.seoulbasketball.webs.com/
I am teaching at an elementary school about 40min from our place it's a bit of a bummer to have to bus all that way but oh well. Chris gets to walk to his school so that's good for him. So far everything is going smoothly nothing too exciting to report there.
This weekend we met up with Brenden a friend from Briercrest and hung out around a big shopping area and Chris got his first palace visit in. It was pretty sweet to be the tour guide I think I will enjoy that part of this adventure a lot. Chris is loving the food, which I am happy about since I enjoy it so much as well. Eating out is part of the adventure that is for sure. We still havent decided if we are going to cook or not.... haha anyways we are doing well, once in a while taking a wrong turn getting somewhere but it's a sweet adventure every single day. I pray this finds you well.
Be blessed and I will be back again next week. Please post comments or questions that you would like us to answer.
This is Deoksung Palace!
This is the building we live in, the third floor. The restaurant below is super and the family that owns it is really nice.

Still Waiting......

So we are still waiting but we've changed locations. We are now visiting my family in Agassiz BC.
We have had to have lots of patience as every step to getting closer seems to take a week and a half. We do finally have our interview and will fly out of Vancouver next Thursday. So things are looking up! Ha, all we can really do is laugh about it all. It's been good to be here because Chris does not know my brothers that well yet and this is a chance to get to. We've been doing a bit of adventuring, like the Othello tunnels in Hope BC. We may add a few more comments later today after watching the final 4 of course.
I will keep you updated........
